    This website provides a central location for approved policies and procedures currently in effect. The policies and procedures available here have been developed for use within the SWKKF.  

    The SWKKF would like to thank past and current committees for their assistance.  Questions regarding content of a particular policy should be directed to the Secretary General.

    POLICY #3SWKKF Dojo Etiquette Manual
    It is generally understood that karate begins and ends with reihoh (etiquette). The formalized manners and mental attitudes that should be followed have been developed over many generations. This formality is not imposed to force any sense of hierarchy or respect in the students; that should already be present. The main function of the rules of etiquette is to guide behavior and to ensure the safety of all participants.

    POLICY #17 ‐ SWKKF Audit Committee
    To act on behalf of the Senate and oversee all material aspects of the organization’s financial reporting, internal control and audit functions, except those specifically related to the responsibilities of another standing committee of the board.

    POLICY #18 ‐ SWKKF Harassment Policy & Procedures
    The SWKKF believes in providing a positive working environment where all individuals are treated with respect and dignity. Each individual has the right to participate in a professional atmosphere which promotes equal opportunities and prohibits discriminatory practices, including sexual harassment. Harassment, whether verbal, physical or environmental is unacceptable and will not be tolerated.

    POLICY #19 ‐ SWKKF Mentorship Program
    The Mentorship program has become a priority with in the SWKKF to encourage mentorship throughout the organization. This is to ensure that the natural progression of mentoring continues and Hanshi Shintani’s teachings are carried on to generations ahead.

    The Shintani Wado Kai Karate Federation will be launching the Culture of Recognition Program at the banquet following the National Memorial Tournament on May 26, 2018 in Simcoe, ON.

    The Shintani Culture of Recognition Program will be recognizing some of the organization’s leaders, contributors, ambassadors, scholars and karate-ka for their contributions and achievements over the past year.

    Nomination period - April 15 through May 1, 2018 at midnight.

    Nominations – nominees must be a SWKKF member, must be a SWKKF register member to nominate.


    If you wish to have a clinic sponsored within the SWKKF you can request this by completing this form.

    The following application form is to be filled out and returned to Sensei Denis Labbé.  Applications will be reviewed for viability and availability of dates and instructors.
    List of Clinics & Workshops
    • Instructors Clinic – Typically a 3 day clinic designed to provide brown and black belts with tools and hands on experience in teaching the Shintani curriculum.
      • Fees: Brown & Black belts $75/weekend Participant student’s $20/weekend
    • Shindo Clinics – 4 part series each series is taught over a 3 day clinic. Designed to teach the Art of Shindo.
